Museums and public transport free to Ukrainians

Інформацію українською мовою ви знайдете тут./Information in Ukrainian can be found here.
Vilnius expresses its sincere support for the people of Ukraine, who are courageously fighting for their freedom and democratic values.
We are inviting the Lithuanian Ukrainian community and Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes because of the war to visit museums and use public transport in Vilnius free of charge.

Mentorship programme „BeFriend Vilnius“

We appreciate that relocating to another country can often be a very daunting and unsettling experience, especially if you can‘t speak the language and don‘t know anybody. But don‘t worry, you are not alone –„BeFriend Vilnius“ volunteer mentors are ready to support you through this process and help you settle in quicker and easier.

This is a non-financial programme where local mentors offer their most valuable asset – time – to newcomers by providing them with information and advice on a 1-1 basis, either in person or virtually/via the phone. More information can be found here.

Free public transport

For Ukrainians who have left the war zone and come to Vilnius, the capital is providing free access to the city’s public transport. Ukrainians will just have to present their identity documents to controllers – no tickets or other documents will be necessary. Public transport in the capital will also be free of charge for foreigners who were legally residing in Ukraine and fled to Vilnius. Visiting museums will also be free of charge with a Ukrainian passport.

The museums providing free entrance to Ukrainian citizens:

Free train service

On 1 March, the passenger transportation company LTG Link began offering Ukrainian citizens free train service for domestic routes. Ukrainian citizens who would like to take advantage of this offer will just need to present a Ukrainian passport or identity card, or a birth certificate for children.

Every Vilnius resident can help Ukraine. You can find more information at: https://ukraina.vilnius.lt/en/
