Information for EU Citizens 

Citizens of the EU and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries and family members of the aforementioned, or anyone else who has been granted the right to free movement within the EU can stay in Lithuania for up to 3 months without the need for any type of residence permit. However, those that fit into the above-mentioned categories but live in Lithuania for more than three months within a six-month period must apply for a certificate confirming their right to temporary residence in the country. 

Information for NON-EU Citizens 

Non-EU citizens who intend to stay in Lithuania forup to90 days in a 180-day periodmust have a Schengen Visa if they are not subject to a visa-free regime. To calculate those days you can useSchengen short-stay calculator.

If you intend to stay in Lithuania formore than 90 days within a 180-day period, you must acquire a national visa or a temporary residence permit. 

Permanent residence permit

Individuals who have lived in Lithuania for more than 5 years may be eligible to acquire a permanent residence permit. Visit the Migration Department website to start the process of applying for a residence permit and to submit the required documentation.
