Vilnius will host EFIB 2022 this October

Lithuania’s strong track record in industrial biotechnology recently attracted a major event to Vilnius. The European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology and the Bioeconomy (EFIB) recently announced the details for the 15th edition of its annual event. The forum will take place on 26-27 October and will gather 600 top experts and leaders for plenary sessions and an exhibition in Lithuania’s capital.

Dr Claire Skentelbery, Director General of EuropaBio, commented, “I am happy that EFIB for the first time will be hosted by Lithuania – a growing hotspot in Europe for Life Sciences development and operations, offering not only a welcoming and value-driven ecosystem but also a pool of highly skilled and motivated talent.

With the biotechnology sector now one of Vilnius’ keys sectors and one that is experiencing rapid growth around the world, it is of great importance to bring local and international industry leaders with common goals together to further develop this sector.

Shifting changes globally are seen as industrial biotechnology now intersects with almost every aspect of business, bringing it to another way of thinking. EFIB 2022 will focus on the industry’s NEXT hot topic – Next generation economies: Industrial biotechnology for a sustainable society. The forum will be dedicated to innovation and the commercial delivery of industrial biotechnology and the bioeconomy.

There is no doubt that this year’s event will serve as a space for policymakers and industry representatives to meet and discuss how the EU can facilitate the unlocking of biotechnology and the bioeconomy’s full potential. All this makes EFIB 2022 in Vilnius the place to be.
