Some cities make Christmas louder. Vilnius gives it room to unfold. This year, something new has been spotted in the compact UNESCO-listed streets, quiet courtyards and green spaces of Vilnius: a new species - Christmas Walkerus.
With everything within walking distance, fewer crowds and a festive yet unhurried atmosphere, Vilnius seems to provide just the right conditions for this newly discovered species - one known to wander in search of real Christmas miracles. And the best part? You don’t have to be born a Christmas Walkerus. Just come to Vilnius to become one.

Where the first sighting was recorded?
The first Christmas Walkerus sighting was recorded at the Vilnius Miracle Tile. Step onto the Miracle Tile yourself. Turn around three times. Make a wish. When you step off, leave the shortest route behind. From now on, follow the bells, lights, scents and small surprises of Vilnius. You are no longer just walking through Christmas. You are becoming Christmas Walkerus.
The Slowest Christmas Marathon
No stopwatch. No personal best. No reason to hurry. The only marathon you win by slowing down and soaking up the Christmas spirit.
On December 12, start from Cathedral Square and choose a 3 km, 10 km, 21 km or full 42.195 km route, discover Christmas stops across the city, complete playful challenges and collect Christmas moments along the way. All marathon participants will also unlock special offers and experiences from Vilnius partners that will be available on December 12 and 13. After enjoying their chosen route and stopping at every festive checkpoint, a special medal will be waiting at the Vilnius Tourist Information Centre.

The Christmas Market in Cathedral Square will run from 28 November 2026 to 27 December 2026. Buy some fun souvenirs, warm up with festive hot chocolate and share the joy.

This year, the Vilnius Christmas ice rink will be full of surprises and will welcome visitors in the heart of the Old Town, at Town Hall Square. The rink will be open from November 29, 2026, to January 25, 2027.
