Lithuania will host the international Healthy Ageing and Longevity Assembly 2026 on 8–14 June, bringing together researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers and international experts to discuss one of Europe’s most important long-term challenges – healthy ageing and longer, healthier lives.
The Assembly will take place across several Lithuanian cities, including Vilnius, Kaunas, Birštonas, Druskininkai and Klaipėda, positioning Lithuania as an international platform for dialogue on health, ageing, science and wellbeing.
Several of the Assembly’s key events will take place in Vilnius.
On 11 June, the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences will host an international conference dedicated to the latest developments in ageing and longevity research.
On 12 June, a high-level policy forum at the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania will bring together Lithuanian and international policymakers, scientists and healthcare experts to discuss healthy ageing policies, prevention and international cooperation. During the forum, organisers also plan to announce the International Parliamentary Cooperation Initiative for Healthy Ageing and Longevity.
The programme is expected to include speakers and experts from more than 10 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Israel and the Baltic states. The Assembly will also include public events in Vilnius focused on healthy lifestyle awareness and wellbeing.
Other events will take place in Kaunas, Klaipėda, Druskininkai and Birštonas, including medical conferences, public engagement activities and innovation-focused discussions.
According to the organisers, the initiative aims to strengthen international cooperation in healthy ageing, support science and education, promote disease prevention and help extend healthy life years.
