Vilnius Dives into Swimming Action This Summer

Mark your calendars! Vilnius is set to make a splash as it hosts the 50th European Aquatics Junior Swimming Championship from July 2nd to 7th. This historic event, organised by LTU Aquatics in collaboration with the Vilnius municipality and the Lithuanian Sports Agency under the supervision of the European Aquatics Bureau, marks the first time the European Junior Swimming Championships will be held in the Baltics.

Lithuania’s proud history in swimming, highlighted by notable appearances on the Olympic, World, and European stages, adds special significance to this championship. "The European Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships represent a significant opportunity for Lithuania to uphold its century-old tradition of swimming and to inspire the emergence of new champions from the young generation," said Saulius Binevičius, President of Association LTU Aquatics.

Vilnius is fully prepared and eager to welcome this prestigious event, which will showcase the city's readiness and professionalism in hosting large-scale international competitions. Around 800 participants from 49 European countries and their support staff are expected to converge in Vilnius. The Lazdynai Swimming Pool, renovated to meet international standards, will host the competitions with its 50 m and 25 m pools, providing top-notch conditions for athletes.
