World’s fact-checkers to meet in Vilnius for GlobalFact 2026

Vilnius will host the 13th edition of GlobalFact in June 2026, one of the world’s leading conferences for professional fact-checking. Organized by the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) at Poynter, the summit provides a platform for journalists and media professionals to exchange knowledge, discuss challenges, and strengthen international networks in addressing misinformation. 

The event is expected to bring together over 400 participants from more than 80 countries will be co-hosted by Delfi, Lithuania’s leading news media platform. It will feature keynotes, interactive workshops, and networking sessions, covering topics such as artificial intelligence, online disinformation, and information integrity. 

For the first time, GlobalFact will introduce “GlobalFact Virtual”, a year-round series of online seminars enabling fact-checkers worldwide to collaborate and share insights continuously. Dates and registration details for the Vilnius summit will be announced in the coming months. 

This event highlights Vilnius’s growing role as a host city for international professional gatherings and its support for global knowledge exchange.
