Vilnius has been chosen to host the BETravel Congress 2026, one of Belgium’s most prominent travel industry gatherings. Taking place from 26–29 March 2026, the event will welcome around 250 leading Belgian travel professionals, including senior travel agents, tour operators, and decision-makers.
Organised by VVR (Flemish Association of Travel Agents) and UPAV (Union Professionnelle des Agences de Voyages), both founding members of the Belgian Travel Confederation, the congress represents over 90% of Belgium’s travel sector.
The four-day congress’s programme will feature keynotes, expert-led workshops, high-level networking, and a dedicated Market Place — a dynamic space for buyers, sellers, and suppliers to meet and collaborate.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to explore Vilnius and Lithuania through curated excursions, offering a taste of the country’s culture, nature, gastronomy, wellness, and golf tourism. These hands-on experiences are designed to help participants better understand and sell the destination to their clients.
The winning bid was led by Lithuania Travel, the national tourism development agency, in collaboration with Go Vilnius, the city’s official business and tourism agency.
“Hosting the BETravel Congress is a valuable opportunity to raise the country’s profile in the Belgian market. We look forward to giving delegates a memorable and inspiring experience — from vibrant Vilnius to the rich culture, landscapes, and local flavours found across the country,” said Olga Gončarova, CEO of Lithuania Travel.
Interest from Belgium is clearly on the rise. In 2024, tourist arrivals from Belgium to Lithuania grew by an impressive 134% compared to the previous year. Notably, two out of every three Belgian visitors chose Vilnius as their destination — a testament to the capital’s appeal and its potential to become a key player in the Belgian outbound travel market. Hosting BETravel 2026 is set to further accelerate this momentum.
