ICCA Rankings: Vilnius' European Success Built on Local Expertise

Vilnius has once again been recognised among Europe's leading destinations for international association meetings, ranking 22nd in Europe and 34th globally in the latest International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) rankings.

The Lithuanian capital remains the highest-ranked city in the Baltics, hosting 66 ICCA-qualified international association meetings in 2025. Lisbon (188), Paris (174) and Barcelona (166) occupy the top three positions in the European rankings.

At national level, Lithuania ranked 43rd globally with 79 international association meetings, maintaining its position as the highest-ranked country in the Baltics. Vilnius hosted more than 83% of all ICCA-qualified events held in Lithuania, underlining the city's central role in the country's international meetings sector.

Vilnius' position in the ICCA rankings is closely linked to the city's internationally connected research, healthcare and innovation communities. Strong sectors such as life sciences, medicine, technology and higher education continue to attract international association meetings, supported by local experts who actively contribute to international organisations, research networks and professional communities.

The latest ICCA results come alongside another record year for Vilnius' meetings industry. In 2025, the city hosted nearly 800 international conferences and corporate meetings, welcoming more than 93,000 delegates and generating an estimated economic impact of €97 million – a 29% increase compared with the previous year.

While association meetings account for only part of the city's meetings market, they remain among the most internationally competitive events to attract. The latest rankings confirm Vilnius' position among Europe's established association meeting destinations and the leading city in the Baltics.
