As the proud recipient of the European Green Capital 2025 title, Vilnius is taking center stage on the global sustainability map by hosting the international 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission 2025 Conference. Taking place from 6–8 May 2025, the conference will focus on “Harnessing City Successes: Advancing Climate Action for 2030”, spotlighting the progress and ambition of Mission Cities and their partners as they strive to achieve climate neutrality by 2030.
The event is expected to bring together nearly 1,000 participants from across Europe, including city practitioners, political leaders, industry innovators, financial experts, civil society representatives, and European Commission officials.
The conference will address strategies for achieving climate neutrality. Key themes include sustainability, energy security, urban transportation, future challenges, and strengthening partnerships between Ukrainian cities and the EU Cities Mission.
Vilnius is one of the select cities participating in the EU Cities Mission, aiming to reduce CO₂ emissions to a minimum and achieve climate neutrality by 2030. Hosting the conference marks an important and growing role for Vilnius on the global map of urban sustainability transformation.
