Branching off of Pilies street, favoured by tourists and leading to the churches of St Mykolas, Bernardinų and the famed church of St Ona, you will find an Old Town artisans’ courtyard and the restaurant Gabi, which opened in 1994 and is interesting in its unique historical interior – a true treat for the eyes. The restored 18th c. frescoes of nature motifs, a fragment of wooden beam ceilings, brick vaults in the cellar halls and other carefully preserved ancient elements give the restaurant its charm. It is definitely worth the visit for lovers of European and Lithuanian cuisine. In order to please customers of all tastes, various dishes are grilled and served with locally-made sauces from dates, spinach or dried tomatoes. The choices here are truly abundant, with poultry, pork, beef, fish or vegetarian dishes on offer.
