TOP 5 most popular restaurants of Gastronomy Week

For the eleventh time, Lithuanian Gastronomy Week delighted gourmets, food lovers and adventurers looking for new tastes by opening the doors of 51 restaurants across Lithuania, 40 of them in Vilnius. From 25 April to 1 May, special restaurant chefs offered tasting menus and special offers, inviting visitors to discover exotic dishes as well as the first fruits of Lithuanian forests and farms.

The chefs were challenged to reflect the 22 colours of flavours in their menus. Restaurant visitors could judge whether they had succeeded by tasting the special dishes of Gastronomy Week. More than 1000 votes were cast for the restaurant and menu they liked. Which restaurants were the most popular and received the most support from guests? Here are the TOP 5 restaurants in Vilnius that you can visit at any time – you don't have to wait for the next Gastronomy Week to enjoy the colourful flavours and vibrant experiences.

Saltoniškių g. 7C, Vilnius

For Mexican flavours with a hint of bright sunshine and authentic experiences, head to La Capital, where traditional Mexican cuisine meets modern preparation techniques. Mexican chef Alexis Maldonado prepares authentic Mexican dishes that remind him of home. As well as the traditional menu, you'll also find weekend brunch and a tasting menu. The tastes, smells and ambience take you back to the brightness of Mexico.

Vilniaus g. 19, Vilnius

The grills are sizzling. The steak bar invites you to try steaks – the delicious Flat Iron shoulder steak or the juicy Rib Eye steak beckons from afar. But it’s not just steaks that the restaurant is famous for – Spanish dishes, appetizers, vegetarian options, and beer and cocktails are a feast for the stomach.

Visų Šventųjų g. 5, Vilnius

Mexican cuisine has found a home in the vaults of a 400-year-old monastery. Every dish is created, tasted and perfected over months. Traditional recipes are intertwined with modern interpretations, and quality is guaranteed by long and meticulous work: from handmade tortillas to the meat smoked in-house.

Gaono g. 7, Vilnius

In an enclosed garden under a glass dome, in a romantic atmosphere among evergreens, the new Lithuanian cuisine is unfolding on the plates – refined, but not forgetting its roots and traditions. Fresh vegetables, fruit and spices come from the restaurant’s organic farm.

Jogailos g. 8, Vilnius

Meat or fish steaks are never boring. Even if you come here more often, you’ll be surprised – the seasonal cuisine restaurant is always preparing surprises. The produce comes from local farmers, even the plates are handmade by Lithuanians. Stop by for brunch, lunch or dinner. Chef Tadas Paplauskas will also offer a personalised tasting menu tailored to your preferences.
