The Užupis Art Incubator wants you to get to know a little part of Ukrainian culture with the Vinok project. We will present and show a video series on the craft of blacksmithing and how various products are produced through the use of authentic technologies, and on the reconstruction of a tile stove, from production of the tin-glazed tiles to building the stove. Characterised by an abundance of colours and patterns and requiring meticulousness and patience, tablet weaving is one of the oldest techniques around for making sashes. During this class, participants will become acquainted with traditional sash patterns and ornaments and will learn how to plot a pattern that they will later use to thread tablets and weave a sash.
