Stay Active, Enjoy Relaxing in Vilnius this Winter

Take a leisurely hike and enjoy the panoramas of the city – the Old Town is surrounded by hills, so you'll get to see Vilnius from multiple different angles. Experience the excitement of racing champion sled dogs. Try some childhood favourites like ice skating and toboggan rides. There are indoor and outdoor ice-skating rinks, but if you want to skate on a lake, be sure that the ice is strong. As for toboggans, just follow the kids going to their favourite spots right in the Old Town. Go to Liepkalnis for a ride down the city’s tallest hill and enjoy skiing or snowboarding while the planes land and take off over your head – no worries if you didn’t bring your equipment – you can rent it all. And if you're into extremes, join a team of paddleboarders on the Neris River for their annual Santa Swim.

When you're tired of all the excitement, it's time to unwind, and Vilnius has a lot to offer. Take a dip in a swimming pool – you can even swim outside with snow falling on your head. Experience the pleasure of the traditional Lithuanian sauna. Get a relaxing massage at one of the spas around the city – if you're into something new, try a procedure using amber, the so-called Lithuanian gold. Enjoy a float pod experience and cut off all the noise of the outside world. Or just spend the whole day letting others pamper you. After all, it's been a crazy year and you deserve the rest!
